Wednesday Oysters

Wednesday Oysters at Johnny's Harborside

Midweek at the harbor means one thing at Johnny's Harborside: oysters, done four different ways. This is a shorter, focused menu for guests who want to go deep on one thing instead of ordering across the whole board. Located at 493 Lake Ave, Santa Cruz.

A note on our menus: what you see pictured changes often. We build this menu around the freshest ingredients available from local land and sea, season by season. Here you will see our menu update live as we give you the freshest ingredients of the season.

Beyond Raw

For guests who want oysters without the raw bar experience, the buttermilk fried oysters come with house cocktail and tartar sauce, a crisp, approachable way into the menu. The Oysters Rockefeller take it further: spinach, cream, guanciale, and truffle pecorino, a richer, more composed plate built for sharing slowly rather than shooting back quickly.

The Flight

The oyster flight is the move if you can't decide. Three fried, three Rockefeller, three daily, and three premium, a full tour of every way we serve oysters on one order. Good for two people splitting, or one person who wants to actually understand the range before picking a favorite.

Good to Know

Where does the daily oyster come from? Our daily selection rotates through the week. Contact our crew for current information.

What's the difference between the daily and premium oyster? Daily oysters are our standard rotating selection; premium oysters are a step up in variety and typically a more distinct, complex flavor profile. Ask your server what's running that day.

Is the oyster flight enough for a meal, or an appetizer? It's built as a shared starter or a light meal for two, not a full dinner on its own.

Are the fried oysters spicy or mild? Mild. The house cocktail and tartar sauce on the side let you control the heat and acidity yourself.

Is raw oyster consumption safe for everyone? Consuming raw or undercooked seafood may increase your risk of foodborne illness, particularly for guests with certain medical conditions. The fried and Rockefeller preparations are fully cooked if you'd rather skip raw entirely.

Is this menu only available on Wednesdays? Yes, this is a standalone Wednesday feature separate from our regular raw bar offerings.
