Drinks at the Harbor: Cocktails, Wine, Beer & Non-Alcoholic Drinks at Johnny’s Harborside
A good harbor bar should give you a reason to stay a little longer.
At Johnny’s Harborside, the drink menu is built for that kind of evening. Come by for a cocktail while the sun is still on the water, meet friends for a cold draft, settle in with a bottle of wine over dinner, or skip the alcohol entirely - our mocktails ensure you still have something interesting in your glass.
The setting is casual enough for a beer and polished enough for a proper cocktail. With Santa Cruz Harbor outside the windows and the kitchen just a few steps away, the bar is as much a part of the Johnny’s experience as the dining room.
Cocktails at the Harbor
The cocktail list leans classic, with a twist.
There is a proper Classic Margarita, a 1944 Mai Tai, a French Gimlet, and the OG Manhattan, alongside more unexpected combinations like Never Knows Best, made with bourbon, Fernet, Blanc de Blanc, agave, and mint.
Whether you like something bright and citrusy, spirit-forward, refreshing, or a little unconventional, there is room to find your usual—or try something different.
California Wine, with a Santa Cruz Point of View
Wine at Johnny’s naturally leans toward our beloved surrounding parts of California.
The locals list includes selections from the Santa Cruz Mountains, Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, the Central Coast, and beyond, with a mix of reds, whites, rosé, sparkling, and half bottles.
This range works well with the menu. Bright whites and sparkling wines make an easy match for oysters and fresh seafood, while fuller California reds belong beside the steakhouse side of dinner.
If you're unsure what to order, ask your server what is drinking well with your meal. The best pairing may not be the bottle you expected.
Drafts, Bottles & Cider
Sometimes the right drink is simply a cold beer.
Johnny’s carries familiar favorites alongside Central Coast breweries, including drafts from Discretion Brewing, Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, Alvarado Street Brewery, and Humble Sea Brewing Co. Bottles include classics such as Modelo Especial, Pacifico, Corona, Heineken, Coors, and Negra Modelo, with cider available as another option.
It is a beer list designed to work just as comfortably with fish and chips at the bar as it does alongside a full dinner.
A Bar for Everyone
Not drinking does not mean sitting out the fun.
Johnny’s offers a dedicated non-alcoholic selection, including Hibiscus on the Harbor, made with freshly brewed hibiscus tea, orange, cardamom bitters, agave, and soda.
There are also non-alcoholic versions of classic drinks, including a White Negroni, Negroni, and Gin & Tonic, along with Heineken 0.0, Lagunitas IPA, and Lagunitas Hop Water.
What Should You Order?
For oysters and fresh seafood, look toward sparkling wine, rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, or a bright cocktail.
For steak, try one of the fuller California reds or settle into something spirit-forward like the OG Manhattan.
For a casual drink with friends, a draft beer or Classic Margarita is hard to overthink.
And if you are not drinking, start with the Hibiscus on the Harbor or explore the N/A cocktail selection.
Or, of course, whatever sounds good.
